Harry Lloyd has joined the upcoming ‘The Beatles’ films and will portray George Martin, the legendary producer who shaped the sound of the Liverpool quartet.

The next major project about ‘The Beatles’ has added a key figure: Harry Lloyd, known for his work in Game of Thrones, will take on the role of George Martin, the iconic producer who moulded the band’s signature sound. The news was revealed by Giles Martin, the producer’s son, in a recent interview in which he confirmed that Lloyd is “deeply committed” to the role.

Martin, an essential figure in the group’s discography, not only produced their most influential albums but also wrote many of the orchestral and string arrangements that have become woven into the collective musical imagination. Classically trained, he was responsible for bringing a sense of sophistication to British pop of the era. His legacy includes 30 number-one hits in the UK, 23 in the United States and six Grammy Awards, cementing him as one of the most influential producers of all time. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 90.

The project, titled ‘The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event’, will feature an all-star cast: Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Harris Dickinson and Joseph Quinn will portray the members of the band, joined by Saoirse Ronan, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Anna Sawai and Aimee Lou Wood. Directed by Sam Mendes, the quartet of films is set to arrive in cinemas in April 2028, with the ambition of delivering the most comprehensive and cinematic portrayal of the band to date.
