Meghan Markle’s team has firmly denied accusations claiming the duchess kept a green dress after a photoshoot.

Sources close to Meghan Markle have stepped forward to refute new allegations about her wardrobe, after rumours suggested the duchess appropriated a dress worth $1,700 during a 2022 photoshoot.

The controversy erupted following the release of the trailer for the holiday episode of ‘With Love, Meghan’ on Netflix, where Meghan appears wearing a green Galvan “Ushuaia” dress priced at $1,695. She had previously worn the piece for a Variety photoshoot, according to People.

After the trailer’s debut, some figures within the fashion industry insinuated that Meghan had kept the dress without permission from the on-set styling team. However, a spokesperson for the duchess called the accusations unequivocally false.

“The insinuation that any item was taken without the full knowledge and agreement of the stylists on set or their respective teams is not only categorically false but also highly defamatory,” the representative said. “Any item retained was done so with complete transparency and in accordance with contractual arrangements.”

Meanwhile, the special episode ‘With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration’ will arrive on Netflix on 3 December, further heightening the anticipation surrounding the documentary and Meghan’s public profile.
