The Australian designer presents Rococo, a modest fashion collection that elevates global luxury through artisanal, elegant and culturally attuned pieces.

Rebecca Vallance takes a decisive step in the modest fashion industry with the launch of a global collection set to mark a turning point in this expanding segment. Fifteen years after securing her first major wholesale deal at Harvey Nichols Riyadh, the Australian designer once again focuses on a market that has continued to grow, unveiling a line built from the ground up to meet the rising demand for modest dresses, contemporary luxury and structured elegance.

The collection, available from 1 December at Harrods, Ounass, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa and other international retailers, reinforces Vallance’s position as a reference in sophisticated occasionwear. The launch arrives at a pivotal moment: the global modest fashion market is set to reach 97 billion dollars in 2025, according to Business Research Insights, and is expected to grow to 146 billion by 2033, with the Middle East and Africa representing nearly half of worldwide demand.

Far from simply adapting existing patterns, Vallance spent nine months crafting a completely new proposal. Under the name Rococo, the designer presents a selection of gowns and capes made from structured satin, jacquard and brocade, featuring high necklines, long sleeves, floor-length skirts and sculptural draping that merge fluidity with architecture. Jewel tones, intricate embroidery and dramatic capes shape a baroque-inspired aesthetic that highlights craftsmanship as a symbol of distinction.

Among the standout pieces are the Memphis Gown, with pleated sleeves and subtle sheerness; the Ellerie Cape Gown, crafted in deep forest-green satin; and the Alora Gown, adorned with delicate appliqués and voluminous silhouettes. The designer emphasises that although the collection is aimed at the expanding luxury audience in the Middle East, the demand for high-end modest fashion is now a global phenomenon. Boutiques in Australia and Europe have already shown interest in a proposal that speaks to diverse cultural sensibilities while retaining a contemporary edge.

Vallance expects Rococo to become an annual release, with potential to expand to two collections per year if interest continues to rise. She is already working on the edition planned for late 2026, convinced that the aesthetic she proposes resonates across multiple cultures and lifestyles. In her words, this new venture celebrates a global woman — a woman seeking “elegance with intention”, able to find in modest fashion a form of personal expression that unites tradition, identity and craftsmanship.
