Recent leaks about the iPhone 18 Pro suggest a redesigned structure, a battery exceeding 5000 mAh and the powerful new A20 Pro chip.
The iPhone 18 Pro has not yet been officially unveiled by Apple, but new leaks are beginning to offer a clearer picture of what the company’s next flagship device could look like. Information shared by well-known leakers on Weibo points to notable changes in design, battery capacity and overall performance.
One of the most discussed details concerns the thickness of the device. According to the well-known leaker Ice Universe, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could measure around 8.8 millimetres thick. While this would represent a slight increase compared with the iPhone 17 Pro Max (8.75 mm) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.25 mm), the difference would remain relatively subtle. The change is believed to be linked to the integration of a larger battery, potentially delivering significantly improved battery life.
Another key discussion centres on the future of Dynamic Island. Earlier rumours suggested that Apple might reduce the feature’s size by as much as 35 per cent. However, more recent reports indicate the change may not be as dramatic as initially expected. The leaker Digital Chat Station claims the company could reuse certain structural moulds from the iPhone 17 Pro, meaning some Face ID components previously rumoured to move beneath the display may remain unchanged.
If this proves accurate, Dynamic Island would likely remain present with a design very similar to the current generation, raising questions about one of the design changes that many analysts had considered almost certain.
Despite these uncertainties, several upgrades appear increasingly likely for the iPhone 18 Pro. The first is the introduction of the A20 Pro chip, reportedly manufactured using 2-nanometre technology, which would represent a major leap in energy efficiency and processing power.
The second expected improvement is a battery exceeding 5000 mAh, a notable increase compared with previous iPhone generations.
Finally, adjustments to the camera aperture system are also anticipated, potentially enhancing night photography and low-light performance.
Although Apple has not officially confirmed any of these specifications, the leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro will focus on three core pillars: performance, battery life and advanced photography. With the launch expected in roughly six months, the device could become one of the most powerful smartphones ever produced by the brand.
