The legal dispute surrounding ‘It Ends With Us’ comes to an end with an unexpected settlement and surprising figures behind the case.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have finally reached an agreement in the legal conflict surrounding the film ‘It Ends With Us’, bringing an end to a highly publicised battle that came close to going to trial. However, what has surprised many most is not the conclusion itself, but the figures surrounding the outcome.
Although there had initially been speculation about multimillion-dollar compensation, several American media outlets have revealed that the settlement was reached without any exchange of money between the parties. According to the reports, neither Blake Lively nor Justin Baldoni received direct financial compensation, aside from the substantial legal costs generated throughout the process.
The case escalated considerably from its early stages. In the original lawsuit, the actress argued that the damage to her public reputation could potentially impact earnings estimated at up to 300 million dollars. Baldoni, meanwhile, responded with a 400 million dollar defamation countersuit, which was ultimately dismissed in June 2025.
Despite the absence of payments between the two sides, the real financial impact became evident through the legal fees. Multiple sources claim that the legal teams involved accumulated approximately 60 million dollars in costs over the years-long dispute.
Following the settlement, lawyers representing both actors released a joint statement highlighting their shared pride in the final result of the film and the importance of raising awareness around domestic violence and the experiences of survivors. They also acknowledged that the concerns raised by Lively deserved to be heard and reaffirmed their commitment to respectful and professional working environments.
