Connor Storrie lands his first Emmy Awards nomination for his work as host of Saturday Night Live and shares his emotional reaction.

Connor Storrie continues to cement his status as one of the year’s biggest breakout stars. The Heated Rivalry lead has received his first ever Emmy Awards nomination, although not exactly for the role that turned him into an international star.

The 25-year-old actor will compete in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series thanks to his acclaimed turn as host of Saturday Night Live last February. In fact, he was the only host from the legendary US show’s 51st season to receive a nomination from the Academy.

Following the news, Storrie shared his excitement in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. “Hosting Saturday Night Live was one of those moments where you think: ‘Is this really happening?’ It was part of my life growing up, so to now be recognised by the Academy for hosting the show feels incredibly surreal. I am so grateful to everyone who made that night possible.”

Although many fans had hoped to see him nominated for Heated Rivalry, the actor was not eligible in this edition due to the Emmy rules surrounding the series’ production. However, the drama has still enjoyed an extraordinary awards season in Canada, where it swept the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards with 16 wins, including Best Drama Series, Best Lead Actor for Hudson Williams, Best Direction and Best Writing, among other honours.

In just a few months, the Prime Video series has completely transformed the careers of both Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams. Since its premiere, the two actors have made their MET Gala debut, presented a category together at the 2026 Golden Globes and taken part as torchbearers in the relay for the 2026 Olympic Games.

Storrie’s success has also crossed over into the world of fashion. The actor has signed major ambassador deals with luxury houses including Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co., as well as appearing on numerous magazine covers.

Before returning to the world of Heated Rivalry, the performer will also appear in the upcoming A24 comedy Peaked, directed by Molly Gordon, after recently featuring in several episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution.

His schedule, however, will soon return to the ice. Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams are set to begin filming the second season of the series that made him famous in the coming weeks, with its release expected in spring 2027. The new instalment will adapt The Long Game and part of Role Model, continuing the story of Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, one of the most popular couples in recent television fiction.
