Kylie Jenner launches Khy’s first footwear collection with Gia Borghini, blending Italian craftsmanship, minimalism and ’90s-inspired style.
Kylie Jenner continues to expand the world of Khy with one of the brand’s most significant moves since its launch. After months of offering subtle previews, the entrepreneur and creative director has officially unveiled Khy’s first footwear collection, created in collaboration with Italian label Gia Borghini and set to launch on 21 August.
Moving into footwear represents a natural evolution for a brand that has so far built its identity around clean lines, contemporary silhouettes and reimagined wardrobe essentials. Jenner is now translating that same aesthetic language into three designs intended to create a compact yet versatile shoe wardrobe.
The Khy x Gia Borghini collaboration comprises three styles: the Studio Thong, Muse Thong and Icon Sandal. While each design has its own distinctive personality, they all share a strong minimalist influence alongside references to fashion from the 1990s and early 2000s.
For Kylie Jenner, entering the footwear category also has a personal dimension. The Khy founder has frequently spoken about her love of shoes and considers them an essential finishing touch to any outfit. That relationship with footwear became one of the starting points for the project.
Choosing Gia Borghini as a collaborator also brings an important element of Italian craftsmanship to the collection. The shoes have been made in Italy, combining Khy’s creative vision with the specialist expertise of a footwear label that has previously collaborated with other prominent names in the fashion industry.
The most understated design is the Studio Thong, a refined interpretation of the classic thong sandal. Conceived as an effortless everyday option, it will be available in sleek black leather and a striking metallic chrome finish. Its pared-back construction removes unnecessary details, placing the focus firmly on a clean, versatile silhouette.
The Muse Thong takes a more architectural approach. The wedge sandal features a sculptural shape that narrows through the centre, transforming an apparently simple design into a far more distinctive statement piece. It will be offered in black leather, metallic chrome and a textured chocolate pony-hair finish.
The third design is the Icon Sandal, created for those looking for footwear with a stronger visual presence. Featuring a strappy, buckled heel, the sandal deliberately draws on the futuristic references that helped define fashion during the early years of the 21st century.
Available in crisp white leather and metallic chrome, the Icon Sandal connects directly with the revival of Y2K fashion, although the trend is interpreted through more refined and contemporary shapes. The collection is therefore built around four principal finishes: black leather, white leather, metallic chrome and chocolate pony hair.
Even before officially announcing the launch, Kylie Jenner had already incorporated the new footwear into her own wardrobe. The entrepreneur was spotted wearing a silver pair at a New York Knicks game, which she attended alongside Timothée Chalamet, immediately fuelling speculation about Khy’s next major move.
