Joe Jonas stars in Kenneth Cole’s new Inspire Eau de Toilette campaign, bringing music, humour and New York attitude to fragrance.
Joe Jonas is adding another role to his career as he steps into the fragrance world with Kenneth Cole. The singer has been named global brand ambassador for Inspire Eau de Toilette, the fashion label’s latest scent, in a partnership that goes beyond a traditional celebrity campaign.
Rather than simply appearing in front of the camera, Jonas was involved in developing the creative concept alongside the brand, helping shape a campaign designed to play with the familiar codes of luxury fragrance advertising.
“Fragrance campaigns have a history of feeling very serious and very sexy, so naturally we decided to take that very seriously,” Jonas explains. “Kenneth Cole really let me have fun with this and make it feel like me.”
That playful approach becomes central to the campaign film. Set in New York City, where Kenneth Cole established his brand decades ago, the story embraces the exaggerated cinematic language traditionally associated with perfume adverts while adding Jonas’s characteristic sense of humour.
Music also plays a leading role. The singer performs an original power ballad created for the campaign, turning the launch into a combination of fragrance, fashion and entertainment rather than a conventional promotional film.
The fragrance itself follows an equally contemporary direction. Kenneth Cole Inspire Eau de Toilette opens with vibrant notes of bergamot, before developing into a fresh aromatic heart. A warm cedarwood base completes the composition, creating a scent designed to balance freshness with a deeper woody character.
For Jonas, the collaboration offered an opportunity to approach the fragrance industry without losing his personality. “We took everything you expect from a fragrance campaign and pushed it a little further,” he says.
