adidas celebrates one of David Beckham’s most memorable moments with two new Predator boots inspired by the pair he wore against Greece in 2001.
Some moments have the power to turn a pair of football boots into part of sporting history. adidas is now revisiting one of them to celebrate 25 years since David Beckham’s unforgettable goal against Greece, launching a new special-edition Predator co-designed with the former England footballer and directly inspired by the pair he wore that night in 2001.
On 6 October that year, England needed a favourable result to secure qualification for the 2002 World Cup. In the final moments of the match, Beckham scored from a free kick that went on to become one of the most recognisable images of his career. That strike also cemented the relationship between the player and the adidas Predator, the boots that accompanied some of his most memorable moments on the pitch.

Exactly 25 years later, the German sportswear brand is revisiting that story with the new David Beckham Predator, bringing back the white and red colour combination associated with the match against Greece. It marks the third Predator edition created by Beckham and adidas, although this time nostalgia plays an especially important role.
The design begins with a clean white base accented by contrasting red details. The historic Trefoil logo also returns, appearing on a Predator for only the second time. Beckham first introduced it to the line in 2024 with his debut special-edition boot co-designed with adidas, a release that sold out in less than 24 hours.
For the latest version, adidas uses the Predator Elite FT L-Tech as its technical foundation. The forefoot is crafted from premium Fusionskin leather, designed to provide a soft touch without compromising the lightweight construction and technical performance of the current Predator. It is joined by one of the model’s most historically recognisable features: the fold-over tongue, finished in red leather.
Beckham’s identity also extends across different areas of the boots. Trefoil logos are repeated throughout the Three Stripes on the sides, while the former footballer’s branding appears on the lateral heel. Another embroidered Trefoil on the tongue further strengthens the connection between this special edition and the world of adidas Originals.

The colour combination is not simply an aesthetic decision. White and red recreate the visual identity of the boots Beckham wore that night against Greece, creating a direct link between one of English football’s defining moments and contemporary performance technology.
Sam Handy, General Manager of adidas Football, describes that free kick as one of the moments that best represents Predator’s history, reflecting both Beckham’s confidence and the technical precision behind the strike.
Alongside the new David Beckham Predator, adidas is also introducing a second release, the Predator Precision Remade, conceived as a much more faithful reinterpretation of the model Beckham wore in 2001.
