Sophie Turner makes a rare red carpet appearance at the Ballon d’Or 2026, showcasing darker hair and a sophisticated Louis Vuitton look ahead of her Tomb Raider debut.

Sophie Turner has returned to the spotlight with a striking new look, making a rare red carpet appearance at the Ballon d’Or 2026 ceremony in London. The 30-year-old British actress attracted attention with her noticeably darker brunette hair, a transformation that comes as she prepares to take on one of the most recognisable characters in video game history: Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider television series.

The actress attended the prestigious football awards ceremony on Monday, 26 October, at London’s Palladium Theatre, choosing an ensemble that reflected her longstanding relationship with Louis Vuitton. Her appearance brought together contemporary fashion, understated glamour and a beauty transformation that has become increasingly associated with her latest acting project.

For the occasion, Sophie Turner wore a complete Louis Vuitton look from the French fashion house’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection. The outfit was complemented by the brand’s elegant Luna pumps and a Le Damier de Louis Vuitton necklace, adding a refined finishing touch to her red carpet appearance.

As a longtime ambassador for the luxury label, Turner has developed a distinctive fashion identity through her collaborations with the house. Her wardrobe frequently combines modern silhouettes with a confident, sophisticated approach to dressing, making her a regular presence at its major events.

Earlier in October, the actress attended the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2027 fashion show in Paris, joining an international guest list that included some of the biggest names in entertainment and fashion.

However, beyond her designer outfit, it was Sophie Turner’s dark brunette hair that became one of the most talked-about elements of her latest appearance.

Although the actress had already embraced a brunette shade for her transformation into Lara Croft, her colour appeared noticeably deeper than in the photographs previously taken during filming. The darker tone marked another departure from the lighter shades that audiences have often associated with her throughout her career.

The change comes during an important professional chapter for Turner, who was officially announced as the star of Prime Video’s live-action Tomb Raider series in September 2025.

Taking on the role of Lara Croft places the actress in a cinematic and television legacy previously associated with Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, both of whom brought the iconic adventurer to the big screen.

Production began earlier in 2026, with Prime Video unveiling the first official image of Turner in character in January. Subsequent photographs from the set showed the actress filming at the British Museum and participating in action sequences while wearing Lara Croft’s recognisable costume.

Filming experienced a temporary interruption in March after Turner sustained a minor injury on set. Production later resumed, and the actress was photographed working on the series in Spain in July.

In September, fellow cast member Jason Isaacs confirmed that he had completed filming his scenes as Atlas DeMornay, Lara Croft’s uncle, suggesting that the ambitious adaptation was continuing to make progress.

Although Prime Video has not yet announced an official release date for Tomb Raider, the series is expected to arrive in 2027.
