The supermodel Bella Hadid is celebrating a milestone with her fans. The 26-year-old shared on Instagram on Tuesday that she has been alcohol-free for the past six months. Hadid revealed her sober anniversary by posting a screenshot of an app that tracks sobriety in real time.
Hadid has been open about her relationship with alcohol and has been known to take breaks from drinking. The star shared with InStyle in 2022 her reasons for cutting back, including feeling out of control, the negative effects on her health and her mental health.
Hadid’s track record of sobriety joins a growing trend of people re-evaluating their relationship with alcohol, for example, giving momentum to the “sober curious” movement or normalizing alcohol “breaks” such as Dry January, where people give up alcohol for the month.
