Celebrity Kim Kardashian has shared a sneak peek of how she’s preparing her red carpet look for the 2023 Met Gala.
Preparation for the 2023 Met Gala is officially underway for star Kim Kardashian. The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ reality star is already taking style cues directly from the themed source, Karl Lagerfeld, as she recently visited the late designer’s Paris office. The May 1st gala will honor the legacy of this important fashion figure who created unforgettable pieces for Chanel, Fendi, Chloe, Balmain, and Patou.
“Had a date with Choupette Lagerfeld in Paris,” Kim captioned her April 26th Instagram post. “Then we hung out at the @karllagerfeld office for some Met inspiration.”
A carousel of photos posted by Kim showed behind-the-scenes moments of her looking at a design sketch collage, black and white photographs, and magazine clippings. On her trip to Paris, Kim kept it chic, donning a high-gloss black trench coat in true Matrix style, paired with a matching latex boot look.
While SKIMS founder kept details of her Met Gala outfit under wraps, there’s no doubt she’s willing to go above and beyond for the annual fete. Take last year, for example, when she admitted to shedding weight in order to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s original 1962 “naked dress.”
“It was quite a challenge,” Kim told Vogue on the red carpet. “It was like a corset. I was determined to fit into it.” She explained that she wasn’t allowed to alter the historic dress, which was loaned to her from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum, so she had to get in shape. When the Marilyn dress fit her perfectly, Kim recalled feeling overjoyed, sharing, “I wanted to cry tears of joy.”
It’s clear that Kim takes the Met Gala seriously and puts in a lot of effort to make a statement with her fashion choices.
