Britney Spears rules out a return to music, reveals writing for fun, and denies rumors about her memoirs. Her life post-conservatorship.
At the age of 42, Britney Spears declared through her Instagram account on Wednesday, January 3, that she will ‘never’ return to the music industry, stating that her motivation for writing songs is exclusively for ‘fun.’ The singer, known for her success in the 2000s, including her latest album ‘Glory’ released in 2016, has decided to step away from immediate music production.

In her statement, Spears revealed that when she writes, she does it for personal pleasure or to meet the needs of other artists, having composed more than 20 songs for third parties in the last two years. Contrary to seeking the spotlight for herself again, Britney has recently ventured into the world of ghostwriting for other artists and claims to enjoy this aspect.
Denying rumors, the artist also addressed speculations about the alleged ‘illegal’ release of her memoirs, ‘The Woman in Me,’ in 2023, clarifying that these reports are ‘far from the truth.’
Britney Spears has taken control of her life since the termination of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021. Her father, Jamie Spears, who had been appointed as the conservator of her personal life and finances since 2008, faced criticism from Britney, who advocated for the termination of the conservatorship in 2021, alleging abuse of power by both her father and co-conservator Jodi Montgomery, who took over in 2019.

In her book, ‘The Woman in Me,’ released in October 2023, Spears details the ups and downs of her life since she was catapulted into public fame, including the narrative that led to the implementation of her conservatorship. Britney confessed in the book that although she knew she had exhibited ‘wild’ behavior during the peak of her fame in the early 2000s, she did not believe that justified her family’s drastic reaction.
Following the termination of her conservatorship, Britney has used her Instagram platform to share moments of her life, from dances for her followers to reflections on her past. This includes her perspective on strict controls, including the administration of medication and surveillance of her activities, which has led to her current inclination to share intimate photos and express her creative autonomy.
It is worth noting that, after her husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, Britney Spears, mother of Sean Preston and Jayden James with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, has embraced her new life as a single woman, revealing intimate aspects of her personality through her social media.
