DIESEL‘s Pre-Spring 2025 collection effortlessly transitions from second-skin underwear to subversive tailoring, embodying creative director Glenn Martens‘ vision of DIESEL as a brand for every moment. This pre-collection democratizes runway concepts into accessible pieces, maintaining the spirit of true inclusivity in fashion.

“This is a collection that blurs the lines: is tailoring elegant or casual? Is a piece denim or trompe l’oeil? And with our new underwear, is it intimate wear or ready-to-wear? DIESEL challenges all conventions, breaking the norm to live on its own terms; this is the path to a successful life,” says Glenn Martens.

The collection is a testament to DIESEL’s innovative fabric techniques and its unique design ethos. Wool tailoring features a coated screen front, creating a dual effect with matte wool at the back and a shiny coating at the front, seen in urban coats, suit jackets, and trousers. This technique extends to checkered cotton shirts, adding a futuristic touch to classic styles. A standout piece is the leather dress with front zipper and jersey back, paired with printed jersey leggings to resemble tight jeans.

DIESEL’s playful subversion of tailoring continues with denim suit jackets printed to mimic stripes, a key element in their interpretation of the three-piece suit, paired with a zippered denim vest and a mini skirt. Another innovative ensemble is a jersey three-piece that looks like denim, but comprises a ruched sweatshirt, a polo shirt, and track pants.

Fabric innovation shines with pieces like a zippered fleece sweatshirt that looks like denim, perfect with jersey leggings resembling tight jeans. Bouclé, reinvented in denim, appears in urban coats, sweaters, and wide-leg pants. DIESEL’s quilted denim outerwear now features water-repellent properties, and jacquard fabrics, designed to resemble denim, creatively place wear in unexpected areas like the waist and chest.

Runway ideas infuse the collection, with fanny packs transforming into crop tops, bra tops, and mini skirts. Underwear transcends its traditional role, becoming outerwear in jersey dresses, sleeveless shirts, cardigans, and skirts, all structured by bra, thong, or corset seam lines. Vivid-colored fabrics, adorned with fringes, pay homage to punk’s spiky hair.

Prints are more striking than ever, with standout designs like a close-up of a dazzling spotlight or crumpled aluminum foil creating a dazzling effect. Floral prints on shirts and worn skirts juxtapose courtesy with rebellion, while the unique prints from Berlin tattoo artist Sagflap introduce an element of twisted fantasy.

Utility pieces for urban life include leather jackets with zippers and large pockets, and faded knit cardigans, vests, and dresses with attached utility pockets. Underwear emerges as the most versatile garment, with new DIESEL pieces like denim-effect leggings and underwear, including sleeveless shirts, mini skirts, long-sleeve tops, and dresses.

Footwear innovations include camouflage-printed boots and shoes in transparent mesh, with metallic stiletto heels and a D-shaped metallic detail. The same styles are available in glossy black patent leather. Worn denim loafers and aged baseball sneakers add a rugged touch to the collection.

Accessories include the Play bag in new photorealistic colors like sky blue, red roses, sweet pinks, and grass green. The Scrunch-D bag, seen for the first time at the FW25 show, now comes in glossy black patent leather. DIESEL’s miniature bags serve as charms attached to larger bags.

The new jewelry collection sets the tone for the season by reinterpreting traditional designs in stainless steel and refined silver. The latest Wonder D bracelet-watch for women features a transparent case in classic pop colors from DIESEL.
