J Balvin makes his film debut alongside Sean Astin and Stephen Amell in the true-story drama ‘Little Lorraine’.

The renowned Latin artist J Balvin will make his cinematic debut in the movie ‘Little Lorraine’, a drama about drug smuggling that will also feature Sean Astin and Stephen Amell. The film, directed by Grammy-nominated Andy Hines, is inspired by real events from the 1980s and focuses on a remote mining and fishing town that becomes a hub for cocaine trafficking. Balvin will play an Interpol agent investigating a Colombian drug trafficking network suspected of using Cape Breton as an entry point into the United States.

Filmed in Canada, ‘Little Lorraine’ marks a significant step in the career of the “Prince of Reggaeton,” who expressed his excitement about acting in a recent interview. The project is produced by Wango Films, whose recent credits include high-profile productions like Simulant and Wander.

Director Andy Hines has praised Balvin’s performance, highlighting the chemistry between the two and Balvin’s ability to bring a complex character to life. The film is expected to hit theaters next year and promises to be an authentic reflection of the harsh realities of the time.
