Freddie Dennis: From Geography to Film, Following His Passion for Acting Without Fear of New Challenges and Projects
Transitioning from studying Geography to pursuing a film career may sound like a Netflix plot, but it’s the story of Freddie Dennis, the British actor who has appeared in series such as The Nevers, Queen Charlotte, and will soon be seen in Her Majesty, the new Spanish series on Prime Video.
To help us get to know him a bit better, Freddie shares that he always knew he would try acting at some point, but he kept postponing it due to a lack of confidence until, at the age of 22, he decided—without telling anyone—to look for acting classes that he could manage alongside his university schedule.
So far, he considers himself lucky in his career, but he takes nothing for granted. “The nature of acting is precarious, and you never know what the future holds in terms of work. Therefore, I try to control what I can.” His work ethic is very important to him, and he confesses that he will strive as much as possible to continue making acting his way of life.

Soon, we will see him in the role of a British prince who comes to Spain to meet an old love in Her Majesty, a project he considers a privilege to be part of, both for the cast and the crew. Additionally, this marks his first job outside his home country, and he is very excited about it. “I never imagined I would have the opportunity to work abroad so soon in my career, but I suppose the stars aligned.”
Regarding future roles, he is willing to take on any part that allows him to continue growing and developing. “I want to constantly face new challenges and improve in my craft.”
He has no fear of stepping outside his comfort zone; in fact, Freddie reveals a deep admiration for two iconic figures in Spanish cinema: Pedro Almodóvar and J.A. Bayona. He mentions that meeting and working with them would be a dream come true, highlighting the emotional depth and narrative complexity that characterise the works of these directors.

But acting is not his only interest within the industry. He shares his foray into writing and directing a short film alongside an old friend. “Life is short, and I want to try my luck at as many things as possible.”
This reflection leads him to a piece of advice he would give to his younger self. With the experience he has gained and several successful projects behind him, Freddie would tell himself to focus on his own career rather than on others. “The race is long, and at the end of the day, you are only left with yourself.
