Being an actor, musician and model, Seth Lee is at an incomparable moment in his life and tells us all about his multiple projects.
We start by discussing his latest movie, ‘BUGS’, which is just around the corner and has been entirely made by university students from Chapman in Orange County. “My initial attraction to ‘BUGS‘ was really because of the very young and talented team behind the project… I knew I had to be part of it,” Seth Lee shares. Filmed in Michigan, he fondly recalls how it was not only an opportunity to create but also to form meaningful bonds. “We came together and grew as a small family during production.”
But having a balanced life with a profession like acting is complicated enough, let alone combining it with his musician facet, with his band, Blowing Raspberries, gaining momentum, he admits it’s quite a challenge. “It can certainly be a challenge… I do my best to take everything one day at a time,” Seth comments. His focus is on living in the present moment, a strategy that helps him maintain the mental clarity necessary to manage his busy schedule.
The Celine ‘Boy Doll’ campaign in 2022 was a turning point for him, marking his first significant modeling experience and his first trip to Paris. “It was really exciting… I received great support and was able to learn so much about the industry.” This experience not only enriched his career but also broadened his perspective on art and self-expression.
Speaking of fashion, Seth sees a clear distinction between runways and the screen. “On the runway, we tend to see that the most avant-garde and eclectic pieces shine, whereas in film and TV, it’s more about functionality.” For him, both fashion and entertainment are means of personal and collective expression, revealing much about his identity and values.
And amid all the shooting and backstage, he always finds time for good personal care, especially skin care. “A good skincare routine is super important for anyone, regardless of gender.” In addition, his involvement in community initiatives reflects his commitment to collective well-being. “I was raised with the principle of taking care of those around me… I make sure to prioritize the time I have available to give back.”
For young artists like him, Seth advises, “it’s important to explore new ideas and be open to learning. You must be in motion and evolving.” It’s a testament to his belief in the importance of dedication and passion for all facets of art.
Looking to the future, he is excited and has very clear goals. With several projects on the horizon, his ability to balance the demands of his professional and personal life continues to be his greatest challenge. “I know I can’t do my best work if I don’t have a life outside of my job,” he reflects. For those looking to follow in his footsteps, his advice is clear: live with purpose, be open to new experiences, and above all, find the time to take care of oneself and others.
