Sadness in Music: Liam Payne Dies at 31

The 31-year-old singer was staying at a hotel in the Palermo neighborhood of Argentina’s capital.

The music world is in mourning after the confirmation of the death of Liam Payne, former member of the famous British band One Direction, at the age of 31. The news was reported early this morning by outlets such as TMZ and Pop Crave.

The former band member was on vacation in Buenos Aires with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, where he had previously posted stories on his Snapchat profile. The artist was staying at the Casa Sur hotel in the Palermo area and, according to reports, fell from the third floor of the building where his room was located.

According to hotel employees, Payne was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and had an incident in the hotel lobby, prompting staff to intervene and call local police officers to the scene. By the time the officers arrived, it was already too late.

The hotel manager explained that he “heard a loud noise” in the rear internal area of the hotel, and when they went to investigate, they found the man had died after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room. It is still unclear whether the death was a suicide or an “accidental” death due to prior substance use.
