The red carpet transforms into a museum of high jewellery, with multimillion-pound pieces elevating luxury into an unprecedented visual spectacle.
The Met Gala 2026 has not only dazzled through its fashion, but also through a display of high jewellery that pushed the concept of luxury to new heights. In line with the exhibition ‘Costume Art’, celebrities embraced pieces that transcend fashion to become true works of art, many of them accompanied by heightened security measures.
Among the night’s defining trends, statement necklaces emerged as the undisputed focal point. Emily Blunt made an impact with a striking Mikimoto pearl body necklace, valued at half a million dollars, reinterpreting traditional jewellery through a sculptural lens. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway reaffirmed her connection with Bulgari, wearing a gold laurel-inspired necklace that merged classical references with a contemporary aesthetic.
The evening also made space for pieces rich in symbolism. Venus Williams, co-chair of the event, opted for a custom Swarovski design — a structured crystal necklace incorporating personal symbols tied to her story, blending identity and design into a single piece. In contrast, Sudha Reddy raised the stakes with a $15 million necklace featuring a 550-carat tanzanite in a deep violet-blue hue that captured every gaze.
One of the most talked-about moments came from Beyoncé, who elevated the concept of luxury with a selection of Chopard pieces in 18k ethical white gold and high-purity diamonds. Among them, a necklace featuring over 140 carats of diamonds, paired with a bracelet set with emerald-cut stones and a cuff showcasing a striking green cabochon, securing one of the most sophisticated looks of the night.
In a more understated approach, Hailey Bieber opted for minimalism with rings and earrings from Belperron, whose aesthetic echoed classical Greek jewellery, aligning seamlessly with the dialogue between fashion and art that defines this year’s edition.
