Kanye West and Adidas have put an end to their disputes after a long and tumultuous process, reaching an out-of-court settlement that puts an end to their collaboration. Both sides have decided to put the conflict behind them.
In 2022, Adidas announced that it would end its seven-year collaboration with Kanye West. The decision was made following the controversy over the “White Lives Matter” T-shirts at Paris Fashion Week, subsequent criticism of Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and anti-Semitic statements.
According to Reuters, Kanye West and Adidas have finally reached an out-of-court settlement two years after the breakup of their partnership. Bjorn Gulden, CEO of Adidas, stated, “Both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore and withdrew all claims.” He also confirmed that there were no payments involved in the settlement, noting that “no one owes anyone anything anymore, so whatever it was, it’s history.”

The decision to end the partnership came after pressure on Adidas over West’s controversial statements. The company reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and inclusion, stating that it does not tolerate anti-Semitism or hate speech.
After the deal ended, Adidas was reportedly left with approximately $1.3 billion worth of products from its collaboration with Yeezy, which they ultimately decided to continue selling, with the hope of concluding all sales of the collaboration line by the end of the year.
