Dior will take its Cruise 2024 show to Rome, the hometown of Maria Grazia Chiuri, on May 27th.
Dior has announced that its highly anticipated Cruise 2024 show will take place on May 27th in Rome, marking the first time that Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri will present a Dior collection in her hometown. Chiuri, who was born and raised in the Italian capital, began her career working for iconic Roman brands such as Fendi and Valentino.

The choice of Rome is not only personally significant for Chiuri but also culturally meaningful. The designer is involved in the restoration of the Teatro della Cometa, a historic venue she acquired with the aim of reviving it after it remained closed during the pandemic. “This small theatre is an important part of Rome’s history, and I hope it will be ready next year,” Chiuri commented last December.
The show will also be an opportunity to highlight local craftsmanship, a regular feature of Dior’s Cruise collections. In addition, it is expected to provide a significant boost to tourism in Rome, much like other high-profile fashion events.

The Cruise 2024 season will also include Chanel‘s show at Lake Como in April and Louis Vuitton‘s show on May 23rd. Fendi, another Roman brand, will celebrate its centenary with special events throughout the year.
