Angelina Jolie will serve as the godmother of the 2025 Trophée Chopard at Cannes, honouring young talents in international cinema.
Angelina Jolie has been chosen as the godmother of the prestigious Trophée Chopard, an accolade presented at the Cannes Film Festival to rising young actors. This year’s recipients are Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett, two up-and-coming talents in European and international cinema.

Jolie, known both for her film career and her global activism, will present the award during a special ceremony attended by key figures of the festival, including Iris Knobloch, Thierry Frémaux and Caroline Scheufele, co-president of Chopard. The actress expressed her excitement at supporting a new generation of artists and emphasised the importance of recognising their work.
The actress is no stranger to Cannes: she has attended in previous years with films such as Shark Tale and Changeling. In addition to her acting work, Jolie leads the creative project Atelier Jolie and collaborates with sustainable brands like Another Tomorrow.
The Trophée Chopard celebrates its 25th edition this year and has served as a launchpad for stars such as Léa Seydoux, Florence Pugh and James McAvoy. Following tradition, Jolie will provide mentorship to the awardees throughout the year. The event reinforces the alliance between Chopard and Cannes, highlighting their shared commitment to emerging talent in the film industry.
