Angus Cloud’s mother is asserting that her son did not die by suicide after questions arose regarding his untimely death.

The Euphoria actor, whose full name is Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, passed away at his home in Oakland, California on July 31st, as announced by the family. He was 25 years old. While the cause of his death has yet to be confirmed, the actor’s mother, Lisa Cloud, is clarifying that her son “did not intend to end his life.”

In a Facebook post, Lisa Cloud wrote that while Angus was grieving the loss of his father, who recently died of mesothelioma, the “last day was a joyful one” for the actor.

Cloud’s mother added that she’s not sure “what he might have ingested after that,” and mentioned she was working at her desk when he “fell asleep and didn’t wake up.”

Cloud became a fan favorite after starring as Fez, the beloved drug dealer in the successful HBO series Euphoria. His acting career was just beginning, and he had plans to appear in three films scheduled for release in 2024 and beyond.

The actor’s castmates and famous friends paid tribute to him in the days following his death, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, and others.

“Words cannot describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to know him in this lifetime, to call him brother, to see his warm and kind eyes and his brilliant smile, or to hear his contagious laughter,” Zendaya wrote on Instagram. “I will cherish every moment. My heart is with his mother and his family right now, and please be kind and patient as grief manifests differently for each person.”
