The Japanese actress and singer Anna Sawai has been named a Dior ambassador following her success in the miniseries Shōgun, where she portrayed Lady Toda Mariko. Her outstanding performance earned her a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award, making her the first Japanese actress to win this prestigious accolade.

Dior announced the news, highlighting the brand’s connection with creativity and culture. Sawai will represent Maria Grazia Chiuri’s womenswear collections, joining ambassadors such as Jenna Ortega and Rosamund Pike.

Born in New Zealand and raised in Japan, Sawai began her career in theatre before rising to fame as a vocalist for the group Faky. She later shone in productions such as Pachinko and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

On the Golden Globes red carpet, the actress hinted at her new partnership by wearing an elegant Dior ensemble. “It is an honour to join this iconic house,” she expressed.
