Before his fall from grace, Armie Hammer was one of Hollywood’s most promising stars. Now, he is seeking to rebuild his image and career.

Four years after the allegations against him derailed his Hollywood career, Armie Hammer has broken his silence about his behaviour and the controversies surrounding him. In an interview for The Louis Theroux Podcast, the actor acknowledged his harmful attitude, though he insisted that his actions “were not illegal.”

“To me, people were like bags of drugs with skin,” he stated. “If you made me feel good, I’d pour everything into the relationship: trips, fleeting romances, intensity. Then, when it ended, I’d just move on. I left a lot of people hurt because of the way I acted, and while I’m not angry about it, I do recognise that I was an idiot.”

Hammer also addressed the infamous messages in which he allegedly claimed to be “100% cannibal. According to him, these were “digitally altered” and part of a conversation taken out of context. “Sometimes, when you’re with someone, sex, alcohol, or drugs can lead to provocative games. But did I have any real intention of causing harm? No,” he clarified.

In 2021, several women accused him of sexual assault, leading to an LAPD investigation that ultimately did not result in charges. His career was put on hold, but he recently stated on the Your Mom’s House podcast that he is regaining ground in the industry: The landscape is shifting, and now a lot of people believe I was treated unfairly.”
