Balenciaga returns to beauty in 2025 with the relaunch of ‘Le Dix’, its iconic fragrance, and announces its foray into makeup and cosmetics under Kering Beauté.

The iconic fashion house Balenciaga, with Spanish roots and global prestige, is set to make its highly anticipated return to the beauty segment in 2025. This comeback will be marked by the relaunch of its legendary fragrance ‘Le Dix’, a 1947 creation that pays homage to the brand’s historic headquarters at 10 Avenue George V in Paris. This move not only reaffirms Balenciaga’s commitment to perfumery but also signals its entry into makeup and cosmetics.

This strategic plan is part of the vision of Kering Beauté, a division established in 2023 by the luxury group Kering, which owns Balenciaga. Under the leadership of Raffaella Cornaggia, this new branch has focused on diversifying and expanding the operations of the group’s brands within the beauty sector. The successful relaunch of Bottega Veneta in 2024 has paved the way for Balenciaga to follow a similar path, leveraging its rich heritage while adapting to contemporary demands.

The relaunch of ‘Le Dix’ will be the first step in a broader strategy that includes the registration of new beauty products, ranging from perfumes to makeup and candles. Additionally, Balenciaga has trademarked its iconic double ‘B’ logo for these categories, underscoring its ambition to establish itself as a key player in the beauty segment.

With Gianfranco Gianangeli taking over as the maison’s CEO in January 2025 and Francesca Bellettini overseeing brand development, Balenciaga aims to reclaim its prestigious position in the world of perfumery while exploring new frontiers. This ambitious plan promises to be a milestone in the brand’s history, heralding a new era of innovation and expansion.
