In just two years, Bea and Her Business rose fast. Now, with Xmag, she reflects and teases what 2025 holds.
Tours across Australia and Europe, songs that will continue to win over generations, and a brand-new, more personal era… These are just some of the things we can expect from Bea and Her Business in 2025, as the singer has shared in great detail during her interview with Xmag.
From 2020 until today, Bea Wheeler has built a music career that has exceeded even her own expectations. However, when asked to describe herself, she sums it up in three simple words: “Sarcastic, honest, and pretty stubborn.“

Like many others, this young singer’s career began on social media. Bea started gaining popularity by sharing song covers on TikTok and Instagram. Her success led to the release of her debut single ‘Born to Be Alive’ in 2023. “It’s been a whirlwind,” Bea admits. “The release exceeded my entire team’s expectations. For some reason, it just connected with people, and I’m really grateful.“
Similarly, the release of her single ‘Safety Net’, which she worked on with producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Harry Styles), has made Bea appreciate the team around her even more: “They always support me and fight for me. They introduced me to these producers and are the reason I can work. There are a lot of sharky people in the industry, and I’m lucky not to have any of them around me,” she explains.

While Bea connects deeply with her fans through her music, her latest song, ‘We’re Not the Same’, has become one of her most personal tracks. In it, she opens up about a childhood friendship that turned toxic—an experience many of us can relate to. “Losing a friend is pretty soul-destroying. But people come and go, and despite the sadness, there’s also relief in letting go of someone with whom you can’t be yourself. I’ve had a shift in mindset,” she shares.
Another song that has changed Bea’s perspective is ‘Rich’, which will soon be available on streaming platforms. The track reflects on the shift in her outlook on life, a reflection that coincides with her 21st birthday: “Regardless of how old you are, you never really want to grow up. So, in a way, I feel like everything has moved so quickly, but I’ve come to terms with it. It sounds a bit silly—people keep telling me, ‘Oh, shut up, you’re only 21, these are the best years of your life.’ But anyway, the moral of the story is that I need to stop taking life so seriously and just enjoy it,” she concludes. This song has also served as a reminder of the need to separate her personal and professional life: “To be honest, I let music consume me to the point where I only talked about music. So I started drawing, cooking, and going out with my friends again, just to be more present,” the artist explains.

In the coming months, Bea has major plans: she will be joining none other than indie singer mxmtoon on her European tour in April and will also be supporting The Wombats in Australia. “It’s really exciting,” she says enthusiastically. “Connecting with people in real life is amazing. My last tour was in December, and I can’t wait to reconnect and meet new potential listeners.“
Since the beginning, Bea has admitted that music has always been a way for her to express her feelings in a much less intimidating way: “I’m not shy; I’m just not very articulate. But with writing, I can disconnect from my thoughts. There’s no time limit, no pressure, no right answer,” she says. When it comes to songwriting, poetry is also a crucial element for her: “I pick random words that inspire different ideas, and that opens my mind to angles I hadn’t considered. All my songs started as poems—I find it really hard to write if I don’t have that cohesive conceptual seed,” she explains.

Her fashion style is another defining aspect of her personality. Her love for second-hand clothing, pins, and badges has helped her craft a unique and personal aesthetic: “They’re fun and slightly chaotic, but that pretty much sums me up. When I was little, my mum used to quote Coco Chanel and say, ‘Get dressed and take one thing off.’ And since you never want to listen to your mum when you’re young, I decided to do the opposite and put on loads of jewellery. So it started as an act of rebellion,” she laughs.
Without a doubt, 2024 has been Bea’s year—she filmed her first music video, toured Europe, Los Angeles, and New York, among others… And yet, the artist has even bigger aspirations for 2025: “That’s always the hope. I’m really excited. Musically, I have a clearer idea of where I want things to go. I want this year to feel a bit more like me,” she concludes.
