Billie Eilish is fed up with people commenting on her fashion choices.

In a recent series of photos posted on her Instagram Stories, the 21-year-old Grammy-winning singer expressed her frustration with the “weirdos” who hate on women and comment on her style. Eilish, who was known for her distinctive baggy clothing style throughout much of her career, has started to change her fashion and embrace a more feminine look.

“I spent the first 5 years of my career being absolutely annihilated by you weirdos for being masculine and dressing the way I did, and constantly being told that I would be more attractive if I acted like a woman,” Eilish wrote in her Story, alongside a self-portrait. “Now, when I feel comfortable enough to embrace anything remotely feminine or tight, I’M ACCUSED OF SELLING OUT.”

She continued, “You guys are the weirdest. LOL I can be BOTH, you damn fools. LET WOMEN EXIST.”

Eilish did not specify which negative comments she was referring to, but her response seemed to be a general one. The singer’s style has evolved over time, and Eilish has shown that she is not afraid to take risks and change. She has dazzled at various Met Galas, including the memorable peach dress in 2021, and her black Simone Rocha ensemble earlier this month.

“FUN FACT! Did you know that women are multidimensional? SHOCKING, right??? Believe it or not, women can be interested in multiple things,” Eilish continued. “Also, femininity doesn’t equate to weakness??!!! Oh my goodness! Mind-blowing, isn’t it? Who would have known? And also, completely unheard of and incredible to want to express oneself differently at different times.”

Eilish has previously spoken openly about changing her appearance as she grows. In a 2021 interview with ELLE, Eilish said she “lost 100,000 followers just because of the boobs” after unveiling the photos for her album Happier Than Ever, which showcased a more mature look.

“People are scared of big boobs,” Eilish continued. “I didn’t have the goal of ‘this is going to make everyone think differently of me.’ I’ve had different hair colors and vibes for everything I’ve ever done.”
