The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics dazzled with stellar performances by Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and more.
On Sunday, the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics shone with a star-studded lineup of performances that marked the end of a memorable celebration.
The evening began with Phoenix, the indie band from France, performing their 2009 hit ‘Lisztomania.’ The band’s energy ignited the crowd as athletes danced to the song’s rhythm. The appearance of Kavinsky and Angèle in a rendition of ‘Nightcall,’ known for its feature in the ‘Drive’ soundtrack, was a surprise. VannDa‘s collaboration on ‘Funky Squaredance’ and AIR‘s ‘Playground Love’ added a special touch, with Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend closing with ‘Tonight.’ Thomas Mars, Phoenix’s lead singer, even mingled with the athletes in the crowd to wrap up the set.

After the Olympic flag was passed to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games, H.E.R. delivered an emotional performance of the national anthem. The ceremony took a cinematic turn with Tom Cruise making a dramatic entrance from the Stade de France, then receiving the Olympic flag from Simone Biles. A pre-recorded video, featuring music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, showed Cruise traversing Paris on a motorcycle and jumping over Los Angeles.

In the final celebration from Will Rogers Beach in Los Angeles, the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed ‘Can’t Stop,’ and Billie Eilish presented ‘Birds of a Feather.’ Snoop Dogg, accompanied by Dr. Dre, delighted the crowd with ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ and ‘Gin & Juice.’ The night concluded with Yseult paying tribute to ‘My Way,’ popularized by Frank Sinatra.
A memorable closing that left a mark on Olympic history and in the hearts of viewers.
