Burberry has announced the appointment of Stella King, a senior executive at Moncler, to its Board of Directors as an independent non-executive director.

Stella King, currently serving as Chief Business Officer for China at Moncler, will join Burberry’s Board as an independent non-executive director and a member of the Nomination Committee from 1 April. King, who joined Moncler in 2011, has held key roles, including President of Asia-Pacific and Chief Business Officer for China, a position she will step down from on 31 December. She also served as a non-executive director of Stone Island, a subsidiary of Moncler, between March 2021 and April 2024.

With a distinguished career in the luxury market and extensive expertise in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in China, King’s appointment is a strategic move for Burberry, which views China as a key market. Gerry Murphy, Chair of Burberry, stated: ”Stella has an impressive and deep understanding of the luxury market and of consumers in the Asia-Pacific region. Her vision and experience will be of immense value to Burberry”.

Additionally, Burberry announced that Fabiola Arredondo and Antoine de Saint-Affrique will step down from their roles as non-executive directors following the Annual General Meeting in July. This renewal of the Board reflects Burberry’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the Asian market and adapting to the evolving dynamics of the luxury industry.
