Jacquemus introduces the Le Valérie bag — a creation blending nostalgia, architectural design, and a heartfelt family tribute.

The world of Jacquemus expands with the release of the Le Valérie bag, fronted by actress and artist Charlotte Le Bon. Inspired by Simon Porte Jacquemus’ childhood in the South of France and named in memory of his late mother, the piece joins the Le Paysan collection — a line that celebrates the designer’s deep connection with his rural roots.

The Le Valérie combines the geometric structure of 1930s handbags with a sculptural ring closure that recalls the iconic Bambola bag. Its silhouette strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication, true to the house’s visual language: clean lines, bold proportions, and flawless craftsmanship. Available in calfskin, suede, and goatskin, the design comes in two sizes — Le Petit Valérie and Le Valérie — featuring magnetic jewel clasps and colour palettes ranging from four to six tones, depending on each store.

The launch is accompanied by a market-inspired installation that reimagines the concept first introduced at the Los Angeles flagship opening. Crates filled with real fruit and vegetables surround the space, where customers can personalise their bags with charms shaped like carrots, cherries, garlic, or hammers, while an artisan engraves initials on site for each purchase.

In the designer’s own words: “I believe it’s thanks to my mother that I’ve always kept that childlike gaze. When I look at a woman, there’s something that still fascinates me. I wanted to speak about that feeling, about the way I see femininity with the same wide-eyed wonder I’ve always had. Thank you for making me love women so deeply.”

The campaign starring Charlotte Le Bon captures this sentiment through playful and spontaneous scenes. The actress and director uses her comedic flair to bring Valérie to life — applying lipstick, reacting with irony to everyday mishaps, and infusing each gesture with light-hearted humour. The tone reflects the joyful spirit of Jacquemus’ mother, a key influence on his creative vision.

Following its debut at Avenue Montaigne in Paris, Jacquemus will continue the Le Valérie rollout with exclusive presentations in Seoul, Busan, and Dubai, positioning the bag as the new icon of the French house and the emotional centrepiece of its latest chapter.
