The R&B star was detained at a five-star hotel following a 2023 altercation in Mayfair.
Chris Brown has been arrested at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester in connection with a serious assault that allegedly took place at the Tape nightclub in Central London in February 2023. The 36-year-old R&B singer was taken into custody shortly after 2:00am, following his arrival in the UK via private jet.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Brown is suspected of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw during a violent incident involving bottles at the Mayfair venue. Detectives travelled to Manchester after confirming Brown’s presence in the country and carried out the arrest at the luxury hotel.
A spokesperson for the Met stated: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”
As of now, Brown remains in custody for questioning. No formal charges have been announced.
