Christina Aguilera dazzles in London by rewearing an iconic Versace dress for the theatrical premiere of ‘Burlesque: The Musical‘.
Christina Aguilera has made waves in London by appearing in an iconic Versace dress that she first wore over two decades ago. The American singer and producer attended a photocall at the Savoy Theatre for the premiere of ‘Burlesque: The Musical‘, donning a green design from the Italian house’s Autumn 2003 collection—a look she originally featured in during a photoshoot captured by Steven Meisel at the time.
Her appearance not only made a statement in terms of fashion but also conveyed a powerful message of timeless style, as Aguilera chose to wear such a meaningful piece from her career once again. The asymmetrical dress, with its lace corset and sweetheart neckline, was paired with knee-high black boots, dark makeup, and her signature platinum hair, resulting in a gothic yet glamorous look that captivated everyone in attendance.
The choice was far from accidental. Aguilera was the face of Versace in 2003, a year when Donatella Versace publicly praised her talent and charisma. The designer stated at the time that she admired Christina’s voice, stage presence, and—above all—her authenticity, emphasising that, for her, friendship came before any professional collaboration.
The dress has also been worn by other celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rita Ora, Iris Law, and Bella Hadid, cementing its place as a historic piece in the archive of pop fashion. However, Aguilera brought her own unique flair to it, reaffirming her status as a style icon and influential figure in pop culture.

The dress’s reappearance also served as the perfect prelude to the highly anticipated premiere of ‘Burlesque: The Musical‘, a stage adaptation of the 2010 film starring Aguilera. In this new phase, the artist is serving as executive producer of the show, which incorporates several original songs from the movie and is backed by a production team led by Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Sue Gilad, Larry Rogowsky, Steven Antin, and Clint Culpepper.
The musical is being staged at the prestigious Savoy Theatre in London and promises to capture the essence of the film that turned Burlesque into a cult classic. Aguilera, who brought the character of Ali to life on the big screen, once again serves as the creative force behind this new format, embracing a stage proposal that blends music, sensuality, and female empowerment.
The official premiere of ‘Burlesque: The Musical‘ is scheduled for Tuesday 22nd July, and tickets are already available to the public. With a mix of nostalgia, high fashion, and musical talent, Christina Aguilera proves once again why she remains a key figure in the global entertainment industry.
