Connor Storrie surprises with a buzz cut at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, where he celebrates his first nomination alongside his mum.
Connor Storrie has experienced one of the most important nights of his career. The 26-year-old actor arrived at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, 6 September, for the second night of the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, where he not only surprised with a dramatic change of appearance but also turned the occasion into a special family moment.
The Heated Rivalry star stepped onto the red carpet sporting his new buzz cut, leaving behind the signature curls that had become an unmistakable part of his image in recent years. To complement the transformation, he chose a grey Saint Laurent suit with a blue silk shirt, an elegant combination that offered a refreshing alternative to the traditional black tuxedo.
Storrie, however, did not arrive alone. The actor chose one of the most important people in his life as his date: his mum, Linda Storrie, who was also dressed in Saint Laurent. Their joint appearance was particularly meaningful as it marked the first time the actor had attended the Emmys as a nominee.
Although his performance in Heated Rivalry was not eligible to compete at this year’s ceremony, Storrie secured his first Emmy nomination thanks to a very different side of his career. The Television Academy recognised his appearance as a host on Saturday Night Live, which he presented last February.
His performance earned him a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, placing him alongside Michael J. Fox and Brett Goldstein for Shrinking, Hamish Linklater for Widow’s Bay, Christopher McDonald for Hacks and the late Rob Reiner for The Bear.
The nomination also holds a deeply personal significance for the actor. Storrie previously explained that appearing on Saturday Night Live was one of those career moments when he almost needed to check that what was happening was real.
“SNL was such a ‘pinch me’ moment in my career,” he admitted. The programme had been a formative part of his life growing up, making recognition from the Television Academy for hosting it feel “incredibly surreal”. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped make that memorable night possible.
