Cos accelerates its global expansion with its first store in India and a highly anticipated return to NY Fashion Week.

Cos, the renowned contemporary fashion brand owned by the H&M Group, has confirmed two major strategic moves that mark a new phase of global growth: its entry into the Indian market and its return to the catwalk at New York Fashion Week.

The brand will open its first store in India in autumn 2025, specifically in New Delhi. This new location will launch with the Autumn 2025 womenswear and menswear collections, reinforcing Cos’s commitment to international expansion. The brand currently operates 239 physical stores across 48 markets and is present online in 38 countries, in addition to a strong wholesale and franchise network.

The decision to enter the Indian market comes at a time when the country is solidifying its position as a key destination for fashion and luxury brands. With a rapidly growing middle class and a population nearing 1.5 billion, India offers fertile ground for premium product consumption. The fashion market in India is projected to grow between 12% and 17% in 2025, while luxury sales are expected to rise by 6.5% to 7% year-on-year, according to data from the Reserve Bank of India.

Alongside Cos, other high-profile brands are also making significant moves into the Indian market. Galeries Lafayette plans to open stores in Mumbai and Delhi within the next two years. 10 Corso Como is set to launch in New Delhi, and Saks Fifth Avenue will enter the country through a franchise agreement with Reliance Industries.

In parallel with its expansion in Asia, Cos is also reaffirming its presence in the global fashion industry with a return to New York Fashion Week. The brand will showcase its Autumn 2025 collection on 14 September, as part of the official calendar of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The show will be streamed live via cos.com, YouTube, and Instagram.

Karin Gustafsson, Creative Director of Cos, stated that New York remains a constant source of inspiration for the brand, thanks to its cultural and artistic vibrancy. Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, highlighted the value Cos brings to the US fashion landscape, offering a global perspective with a distinctly New York sensibility.

The combination of entering an emerging market like India and boosting its visibility in one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals positions Cos as a brand with a clear international vision and the ability to connect with new audiences across different regions.
