Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have ended their relationship after nearly eight years together, and this time it appears to be final.
The 35-year-old ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actress and the 48-year-old Coldplay frontman had been in an on-and-off relationship since 2017, which reportedly included an unconfirmed engagement.
Despite being seen together recently in Malibu and previously in India during Martin’s tour, the couple is said to have decided to separate for good. “They’ve had their ups and downs, but they’re no longer on the same page,” a source told PEOPLE.
Johnson, who is currently promoting her new film ‘Materialists’ (set to premiere on 13 June), had previously spoken about the deep bond she shares with Martin’s children: “I love those kids like my life depends on it.”
The split has come as a surprise to fans, who saw them as a strong and discreet couple. Is this the end of an era, or could a reconciliation still be on the cards?
