Content creator, presenter, writer… Daniele Giannazzo is one of the most versatile personalities of the moment, and he tells us how his passion for film began and how he managed to get to where he is today.
Although we now know many content creators, Daniele started in this world long before Instagram or TikTok existed. The presenter has gone from being a television series fan to working with renowned entities in the film industry, to the point of being awarded at the 80th Venice Film Festival as the best content creator for film and television series.
It all began with an online radio show where Daniele talked about TV series. “I enjoyed it so much that I decided not to limit myself to that weekly show and created a Facebook page called ‘Daninseries‘. The aim wasn’t to gain popularity but to exchange opinions with others, talking about good shows and laughing at ‘trash’ series, but without resorting to negative criticism like most magazines and websites did,” he says. From there, the ‘Daninseries’ blog was born, which later evolved into other channels on different social networks, leading to Giannazzo’s development as a content creator and presenter.
The success of ‘Daninseries’ helped Daniele connect with key figures in the industry and grow significantly. The young Italian says that the desire to share and connect is what drives him to create content, more than the numbers, but he believes that the recognition his blog has received is due to factors such as talent, consistency, dedication, and the good fortune of having people by his side who believe in him and offer support. Above all, he highlights the motivation to push beyond limits: “Every time an opportunity comes my way, I take it, even if I’m swamped with work, because I feel lucky when these opportunities arise.”
According to Daniele, the secret to content creation lies in always prioritising the content, adding spontaneity and creativity. At the same time, it’s important to remember that you’re working with different platforms: the blog, the press, social media… and that each communication channel has its own target audience and requires a different type of content, presented in a way that suits the platform.

It’s evident that social media has been key to Daniele’s success, but balancing authenticity with the content that’s in demand isn’t always easy. The creator tells us that originality and speed are the most important elements: “I’m lucky to be creative and a bit lazy, so I always find the quickest way to create content. When I tell people it takes me an average of 2 minutes to make a 1.5-minute TikTok, they’re surprised, but it’s true! When you show your authenticity, you don’t need too many embellishments. You also have to be quick and stay up to date. Even when I write my novels, I work fast: 400 pages in four months, all while balancing work, personal life, and events.”
Reflecting on his beginnings, the creator and presenter explains that his early days in the Italian film scene were not easy due to the prejudice and snobbishness he encountered: “I was one of the first film content creators at a time when it wasn’t even considered a profession. I was a hybrid between talent and the press, but people saw me as neither one nor the other. Nowadays, creators are much luckier because the path has already been paved for them. I don’t think my view of the industry has changed much, but what has changed is how others see what I do.” Despite the snobbishness Daniele has experienced in the film industry, the Italian writer has also forged strong relationships with industry giants like Netflix and Disney: “It all depends on the people you meet. I’m fortunate to have solid relationships with the Italian teams of Netflix, Sky, and Prime Video. This is because, behind their roles, there are forward-thinking individuals who understand the value of both the person and their work.” One of the most rewarding experiences Daniele recalls was attending Netflix’s Tudum event in Brazil, where he had the chance to meet the cast of various series and do what he loves most: talk about film. He’s also enjoyed travelling the world with Sky and Prime Video for premieres, something he’s immensely grateful for as he loves travelling, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures.
Over the years, Daniele has faced several challenges. The Italian content creator has noticed throughout his career that the entertainment industry is highly competitive: “One of the mistakes in our industry is when creators undervalue themselves, accepting little or no payment simply out of fear of missing out (FOMO) or the need to always be present. They set dangerous precedents that end up hurting themselves and others.” It’s not about being greedy, Daniele clarifies, but about evaluating each situation and, in addition to the financial compensation, considering the recognition the work will receive: “I’ve taken part in many unpaid events, but only when I know that the people involved will eventually find a way to value my work. There isn’t much solidarity; creators often see competitors as rivals without realising there’s room for everyone.”

Daniele Giannazzo has worked in both film and radio, and he explains that he sees them as channels to express the same passion, each offering him the opportunity to showcase a different side of himself. Just as he loves the dynamic nature of radio, he enjoys writing because it allows him to delve deeper into his own thoughts: “Writing offers a unique way to connect with your audience, turning followers into members of a small virtual family.”
The Italian creator concludes the interview by admitting that, looking to the future, he would like to focus more on hosting programmes or live events, and he also hopes to publish his fifth novel, with the aim of turning them into a television series. It’s a project he believes could be highly successful and the culmination of his career. When asked for advice for future generations aspiring to become content creators, Daniele is clear: “Study, study, study! To talk about film and television series, you need to know the classics and the history behind this world.” Having an open mind, staying true to yourself, and being curious are other crucial traits for Daniele, who encourages young people to focus on their originality and avoid falling into imitation.
