David Beckham travels to Courchevel with his daughter Harper amid ongoing family tensions with Brooklyn, prioritising closeness and private time with his children.

David Beckham has once again demonstrated what matters most to him: family time. The former England footballer enjoyed a short break with his youngest daughter, Harper Beckham, in the Alpine resort of Courchevel, France, making the most of the school holidays for a one-to-one trip with the teenager.

The getaway, documented through a series of images shared on social media, revealed an especially affectionate side of the former player. In the photographs, Harper is seen confidently skiing down the slopes — dressed in an all-black snow outfit with helmet and goggles — while her father accompanied her on the mountain and during intimate dinners at the resort. Beckham opted for a loose grey coat, beige scarf and patterned beanie, a functional winter look that contrasted with the emotional tone of the trip.

David himself explained the significance of the journey in a public tribute: “Creating memories with my children, together or individually, has always been important to me. This week Harper and I made a few more. Love you, beautiful.” The message, brief yet heartfelt, suggested a conscious effort to strengthen family bonds during a complex period for the Beckham clan.

The holiday came just days after the 21st birthday celebration of Cruz Beckham, which brought together most of the family at a party held in his honour. His girlfriend Jackie Apostel attended, as did Kim Turnbull, Romeo Beckham’s partner. However, the most notable absence was that of the eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.

Brooklyn had made headlines weeks earlier after posting a strongly worded statement on social media. In it, he claimed he had felt controlled for years and alleged that his wife, Nicola Peltz, had been treated disrespectfully by the family. He also stated that he had been distanced from his parents for months and accused his siblings of publicly criticising him before blocking him.

Although the family has not officially responded to the claims, David addressed the situation indirectly during a television interview, advocating for an educational approach to parenting. He explained that children must be allowed to make mistakes in order to grow, and that as a father he tries to teach them to take responsibility for their own actions.

Despite the internal tensions, the Beckhams have maintained a united public image. Weeks earlier, they travelled together to France to support Victoria Beckham as she received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Against this backdrop, the snowy retreat with Harper carries greater meaning than a simple holiday. At a time of intense media scrutiny and private adjustments, David Beckham appears to be focusing on everyday gestures: quiet conversations, shared experiences and memories built away from red carpets and flashing cameras.

Beyond his sporting or business legacy, the former footballer is now projecting a different narrative — that of a father striving to preserve family unity, even when public life leaves little room for privacy.
