Demi Lovato turns an old controversy into a humorous moment by revisiting the frozen yoghurt shop she once criticised.
Demi Lovato has returned to The Bigg Chill, the Los Angeles frozen yoghurt shop that made headlines in 2021 after a controversy that quickly went viral. Four years later, the singer has transformed that awkward episode into an opportunity for humour and redemption.

Through her TikTok and Instagram accounts, Lovato shared a series of videos showing her enjoying a yoghurt at the same establishment where the controversy unfolded. In one of the clips, she recreates her most memorable quote from that time: “I walked out of that frozen yoghurt shop and didn’t get the yoghurt I wanted.” She then appears dancing and smiling, dessert in hand.
In a second video, the artist overlays the image with the words: “You look happier.” Her response? “Thanks, I finally got the yoghurt I wanted.” She captioned the post with a direct message: “You make me happy @The Bigg Chill.”

The original incident dates back to April 2021, when Lovato publicly criticised the shop for displaying sugar-free products and foods labelled as “diet”. She argued that such items were triggering for people dealing with eating disorders, like herself. The shop responded by pointing out that those options were intended for people with diabetes, vegans, and coeliacs. Lovato later issued an apology and admitted her message had been misunderstood.
Years on, the artist has reflected on her relationship with social media. “My relationship with social media has evolved, from seeking validation to not looking at the comments at all,” she revealed in a recent interview. “If I happen to see something negative, it doesn’t affect me the way it used to. It no longer holds that power over me.”
With this new visit, Demi not only closes a chapter of her public life but does so with humour and self-acceptance.
