The French Riviera is beginning to fill with international celebrities as the 2026 Cannes Film Festival prepares for one of its most high-profile editions yet.

The Cannes Film Festival 2026 has not yet officially opened its latest edition, but the French city is already experiencing the beginning of one of the most important weeks in international cinema and fashion. Just hours before the opening ceremony, numerous celebrities began arriving on the French Riviera, transforming Nice Airport and Cannes’ luxury hotels into the absolute epicentre of global entertainment.

Among the first major names to land were Demi Moore and Heidi Klum, both of whom quickly captured the attention of photographers and international media upon their arrival in France. They are already emerging as two of the most closely watched figures of this year’s festival.

In Demi Moore’s case, her presence carries particular significance this year. The actress will serve as a member of the festival’s official jury, further cementing one of the most important moments of her recent artistic resurgence. She will share responsibilities alongside South Korean director Park Chan-wook, who will act as jury president, as well as figures including Stellan Skarsgård, Ruth Negga and Isaach De Bankolé.

Demi Moore’s participation also arrives during a particularly meaningful period in her career. In 2024, the actress returned strongly to cinematic prominence thanks to The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat, which premiered at Cannes and ultimately won the award for Best Screenplay.

Meanwhile, Heidi Klum once again positions herself as one of the most anticipated figures on the red carpet. The German model has maintained a close relationship with the festival for years, becoming a regular presence at premieres and one of the celebrities who consistently generates the most conversation around fashion during Cannes.

Another arrival that did not go unnoticed was that of Elijah Wood, who landed alongside his wife, Mette-Marie Kongsved. The actor will participate in the festival’s opening ceremony to present an honorary Palme d’Or to director Peter Jackson, the filmmaker behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Lucas Bravo was also spotted in the city. The French actor, internationally recognised for his role in Emily in Paris, further reinforces the strong French representation at this year’s edition of the festival.

Joining them is Nathan Mitchell, best known for his work in The Boys, who arrives in Cannes during a major professional transition following the conclusion of one of the most successful series of recent years.

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival will officially run from 12 to 23 May and will once again bring together some of the most influential figures from cinema, fashion and global culture. As every year, the combination of international premieres, luxury, red carpets and celebrity presence promises to transform Cannes once again into the world’s ultimate showcase for entertainment.
