Dr. Martens appoints Carla Murphy, ex-Adidas, as new Global Brand Director to drive its creative strategy.

Iconic footwear brand Dr. Martens has announced the appointment of Carla Murphy as its new Global Chief Brand Officer, effective from 1 July 2025.

With an outstanding career at Adidas as Senior Vice President Global and Director of Adidas Outdoor, Murphy will lead brand strategy, creative vision, and key areas such as product, marketing, and sustainability. Her experience also includes leadership roles at Icebreaker (VF Corporation) and Amer Sports, parent company of Salomon.

This appointment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Dr. Martens’ global identity and expand its cultural and commercial reach. According to Ije Nwokorie, the company’s CEO, “Carla will bring bold creativity and inspiring leadership to take our brand to the next level.”

Murphy joins the team at a crucial time, following the recent hiring of Paul Zadoff (ex-Nike) as President for the Americas and a series of strategic new appointments in design and marketing.

Dr. Martens is committed to innovation and global leadership. The result? A stronger, more modern brand that connects with new generations.
