Ed Sheeran releases his album ‘Play’ and debuts a music video with Phoebe Dynevor, marking the beginning of a new era.

Ed Sheeran takes a bold turn in his career with the release of ‘Play’, his highly anticipated new album, which officially ushers in a fresh creative era after closing the emblematic Mathematics series. This more experimental and global project arrives hand in hand with the video for ‘Camera’, his latest single, starring the artist himself and Phoebe Dynevor, the Bridgerton star.

Filmed entirely on iPhone from the characters’ perspective, the video — directed by long-time collaborator Emil Nava — captures the intensity of a budding romance. Vespa rides along the Croatian coast, late nights in bars and shared stages come together in a spontaneous, visceral story that accompanies one of Sheeran’s most heartfelt ballads. Produced by ILYA, Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, ‘Camera’ draws inspiration from his wife Cherry and celebrates emotional intimacy and genuine connection.

With ‘Play’, Sheeran ventures into new sonic landscapes: from Indian and Persian influences to echoes of the Irish folk of his childhood, weaving traditions through shared scales and rhythms. The album — a blend of the familiar and the unexpected — reaffirms his ability to reinvent himself without losing his melodic essence.

And tonight, the British singer takes centre stage in a historic event: NPR’s very first Tiny Desk Concert in large-scale livestream format. At 6pm (Spanish time), Sheeran will perform tracks from ‘Play’ with his iconic loop station, offering fans an intimate, unfiltered experience.
