Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have epitomized modern young love since the summer of 2021 and now, after nearly two years together, they are officially engaged.
Stranger Things actress and the rock star’s son Jon Bon Jovi first met through Instagram before striking up a real-life friendship and, later, a romance. During their time together, the two have proudly and frequently bragged to each other, both on social media through posts full of PDA and romantic tributes, as well as in real life, at concerts and red carpet events.
Below, he recalls their sweetest moments, from their first public declarations of each other, to their love-filled vacation and Bongiovi’s film proposal.
April 11, 2023: Commitment.
Brown and Bongiovi confirm their engagement with similar posts on Instagram. The actress shares a black and white image of her and Bongiovi on the beach, where she smiles and shows off her new diamond ring.
“I’ve loved you three summers now, baby, I want them all 🤍,” she captioned the post, quoting lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song “Lover.”
Bongiovi shares a post of his own with other shots of the couple’s special evening on the beach: in one, he embraces his now fiancée, and in the other, the two are seen smiling as they gaze into each other’s eyes.
“Forever,” Bongiovi simply writes.
February 20, 2023: Jake celebrates Millie’s birthday.
Bongiovi commemorates Brown’s 19th birthday on Instagram with a carousel of the couple’s sweet moments throughout the year, starting with a photo of the two sleeping by a pool.
“Another year together around the sun happy 19 to the girl of my dreams,” Bongiovi writes in the heartfelt caption. “I love you more than words can describe. Everything about you is golden to the core ❤️.”
Noah Schnapp, Brown’s co-star and best friend on Stranger Things, comments in the publication, “Cuties.“
January 1, 2023: Welcome the new year.
The two spend New Year’s Eve together. Later, Bongiovi shares an Instagram photo dump of the couple’s holiday activities: the post features a selfie in a car, snapshots of a walk on the water, a solo photo of Brown dressed in black velvet and other moments.
“Love is all you need,” Bongiovi subtitles the carousel.
October 28, 2022: Honor each other with posts.
In September, the two shared Instagram posts dedicated to each other. “Kiss on the cheek to you,” Brown captioned a sweet black-and-white boomerang. Meanwhile, on his own page, Bongiovi shares a photo of the two laughing and gazing into each other’s eyes at a restaurant. “She’s my Rushmore max!” writes Jake.
And a month later, they do it again. On October 28, the two share their affection for each other on Instagram with snapshots of their joint appearance at the premiere of Stranger Things 4 in May.
Brown shares a black-and-white photo of her and Bongiovi holding hands, and in a potential nod to Taylor Swift’s song from Lover, she writes in the caption,“The Man.”
Bongiovi shares a candid video of the two together on the red carpet. “Isn’t she lovely,” he writes next to a red heart emoji, presumably in reference to Stevie Wonder’s romantic hit.
July 7, 2022: They are on vacation in Europe.
The two take a scenic trip to Europe with their families. On July 12, Bongiovi shares a fun video of them riding together in a pink convertible near a cliff overlooking the water.
In a later post in August, Bongiovi shares additional photos, presumably from the same trip, of an intimate outing with Brown in nature, with an affectionate shot of the two of them dressed outside, as well as a photo of Brown overlooking the mountains in a bathtub. “Into the wild with you,” he writes.
June 19, 2022: Overflow on PDA at a Harry Styles concert.
Harry’s House fans attend one of the artist’s concerts.Brown shares a photo from the night in which she and Bongiovi share a tight hug and a kiss.

May 14, 2022: At the premiere of Stranger Things 4.
Brown brings Bongiovi as his date to the premiere of the fourth season of his Netflix show, where the two pose together on the carpet.
May 7, 2022: Millie celebrates Jake’s birthday.
Brown commemorates Bongiovi on her 19th birthday on Instagram.“Happy birthday baby, can’t wait to fly to the moon and back with you!” he writes in the caption.
Later in the same month, Bongiovi shares a sweet photo with Brown of a date night in Barcelona where the two pose in front of the Sagrada Familia. Demonstrating her status as a Harry Styles fan, she captions the post, “Alexa plays Late night Talking by Harry Styles.”
March 13, 2022: They make their red carpet debut.
In their first red carpet appearance as a couple, the two attend the British Academy Film Awards, where they smile as they match black looks.
February 19, 2022: They cosplay Millie’s birthday.
The couple dress up as Barbie and Ken during Brown’s 18th birthday. ” Happy birthday barbie ily < 3 ,” Bongiovi later writes on Instagram.
December 14, 2021: They spend their first Christmas season together.
The couple visits Rockefeller Center in New York City for their first vacation as a couple. Bongiovi shares a selfie of them next to the famous Christmas tree.
At Christmas, Bongiovi gives Brown a vinyl of Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR album, which he soon puts to good use. “I love ‘1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.’ It always makes me want to cry,” Brown says of one of the album’s tracks during a January 2022 interview with Seventeen . “I think my boyfriend is going to kill me if I hear it near him.”
November 1, 2021: They show up in force on Instagram.
After months of dating rumors, Brown confirms their dating status with a blurry photo of the two sharing a tight embrace on a private ride in an empty capsule around the London Eye.
Summer 2021: Meet online.
Brown and Bongiovi first met on Instagram. The actress reveals the news (much later) on a YouTube segment of WIRED November 2022, where she answers the most Googled questions about her, including how she and her boyfriend met. “We were friends for a while,” says the actress, “And then, what can I say?
Despite rumors of budding romance surfacing around this time, the two still publicly claim to be just “friends” or, according to Bongiovi,“Bff.” (However, later in the month, the couple’s romance is apparently confirmed after they are photographed holding hands in New York City.)
