KENZO unveils its Pre-Spring 2027 collection with a campaign photographed by Piczo in Japan, where Nigo brings together craftsmanship, streetwear and Japanese tradition.
KENZO returns to its Japanese roots with a collection that brings together tradition, creativity and contemporary fashion. The luxury fashion house has unveiled its new Pre-Spring 2027 collection, designed by Nigo, in a campaign that takes the brand’s universe to Chiba, Japan. Photographed and directed by Piczo, this latest offering explores the relationship between craftsmanship, everyday life and an approach to dressing that prioritises comfort without compromising on style.
The campaign unfolds across three different settings, each representing a different moment of the same day: a ceramics workshop, a traditional Japanese house and a natural setting surrounded by greenery. Through these locations, KENZO creates a visual narrative that reflects the balance between work, rest and leisure, three concepts at the heart of the new collection.

The journey begins in a ceramics workshop, where an artisan’s daily routine becomes the starting point for the story. This choice is no coincidence, as Nigo has a personal interest in Japanese ceramics, a discipline that directly connects with his creative vision and admiration for traditional craftsmanship.
In this setting, the garments take on a particularly functional character, drawing on elements of workwear, one of the season’s main inspirations. Comfortable silhouettes, practical designs and references to everyday clothing come together in a collection that combines functionality with style.
One of the defining elements of KENZO Pre-Spring 2027 is the Work & Play concept, which Nigo has revived from the fashion house’s archives. This line serves as inspiration for reinterpreting casual pieces, sportswear influences and graphic designs that can adapt to different moments throughout the day.

The second part of the campaign takes place in a traditional Japanese house, where the pace becomes more relaxed. Domestic interiors and the country’s distinctive architecture provide the backdrop for a selection of laid-back garments that reflect the importance of comfort and effortless dressing in contemporary fashion.
Finally, the story moves outdoors, among trees and gardens, where the collection reveals its more spontaneous side. This final setting reinforces the Work & Play philosophy, demonstrating how fashion can also accompany leisure activities and moments of relaxation.

When it comes to the designs, Nigo revisits some of KENZO’s most recognisable codes. Varsity-inspired pieces sit alongside the Ikat Flower print, a floral motif linked to the traditional Japanese Kasuri textile technique, bringing an artisanal dimension to the collection.
The KENZO Signature also makes a return, presented in a new two-tone version, alongside the iconic Kenzogram monogram, which features across both ready-to-wear and accessories. These elements reinforce the fashion house’s visual identity, creating a connection between its archives and contemporary trends.
