The actress expressed her desire to return to the Disney universe after receiving the Hollywood Icon Award, even following the film’s controversial outcome.
During the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Snow Ball gala, where she was honoured with the Hollywood Icon Award, Gal Gadot spoke openly about her experience playing the Evil Queen in the 2025 live-action remake of ‘Snow White’. Far from distancing herself from the project, the actress made it clear she would be delighted to step into the shoes of the iconic character once again.
“I would love to do that. Yes. Tell Bob. Bob, I’ll do that,” she said, addressing Disney CEO Bob Iger directly — and with a touch of humour.
The film, which reimagined the 1937 animated classic, arrived surrounded by controversy due to the public political differences between Gadot and her co-star Rachel Zegler, whose opposing views sparked constant debate on social media. This was further compounded by a lukewarm critical reception: the film earned a “Rotten” 39% score on Rotten Tomatoes and failed to recoup its budget at the box office.
Despite the media uproar and commercial outcome, Gadot had previously shared her own take on the project, defending her work and downplaying the drama around its failure. Her openness to return to the role — whether in a sequel or a potential spin-off — shows she still sees untapped potential in the Evil Queen.
Even so, despite the actress’s enthusiasm, it seems unlikely that Disney will revisit ‘Snow White’ in the near future, particularly after the negative impact of its release. Still, the door isn’t entirely closed… and Gadot is certainly ready. Could that be enough to reignite the conversation within the studio?
