The ambitious ‘The Beatles’ biopic will be released in four films, telling each band member’s story from their own perspective.
‘The Beatles‘ phenomenon returns to the big screen with a unique cinematic approach. Directed by Sam Mendes, the biopic of the legendary British band will be presented as a four-part film event, with each instalment dedicated to the perspective of one of the members. Harris Dickinson will portray John Lennon, Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan will take on the role of George Harrison, and Joseph Quinn will star as Ringo Starr.
The official announcement, made on 1st April, confirmed that the project aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth account of the Liverpool quartet’s history. According to Mendes, this format will allow each film to explore “the unique perspectives and experiences” of the musicians. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman described the project as “the first theatrical experience designed for binge-watching”.
Although exact release dates have yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that the rollout will begin in April 2028. The big question in the industry remains: will this four-part format manage to hold audiences’ attention, or will it prove to be an overly ambitious experiment?
