A24 has unveiled the official trailer for ‘How To Make A Killing’, the pitch-black comedy in which Glen Powell plots to reclaim a lost inheritance—no matter the cost.
A24 has released the official trailer for ‘How To Make A Killing’, the new dark comedy from John Patton Ford, starring Glen Powell and Margaret Qualley. The film, a razor-sharp satire on ambition, power and family, is set to hit cinemas on 20 February 2026.
Powell plays Becket Redfellow, a working-class man whose biggest secret is also his greatest misfortune: he was disowned at birth by his “obscenely wealthy family”. Determined to claim what he believes is his, Becket devises a plan as meticulous as it is ruthless to become the sole heir—and he won’t let anything, or anyone, stand in his way.
During his mission, an old friend resurfaces: Una, played by Margaret Qualley, who warns him with a line as unsettling as it is revealing. Members of the Redfellow family are dropping like flies… and she seems to know exactly who’s behind it.
The cast also features Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace and Ed Harris, bringing to life a gallery of eccentric, ambiguous and, in some cases, potentially lethal characters.
The film draws loose inspiration from the classic ‘Kind Hearts and Coronets’ (1949) by Robert Hamer, itself based on the 1907 novel ‘Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal’ by Roy Horniman, reviving the British tradition of dark humour, elegant murder and deeply toxic family dynamics.
With a sharp tone and the unmistakable aesthetic of A24, ‘How To Make A Killing’ is poised to become one of the most talked-about dark comedies of 2026, led by a Glen Powell who continues to cement his status as one of his generation’s most versatile actors.
How far would you go for an inheritance? Becket Redfellow has made up his mind… and the trailer makes it clear that the price may be deadly.
