Two rising stars join the next Hunger Games chapter, bringing fresh energy and global appeal to the franchise’s cinematic legacy.
Lionsgate has confirmed today, Friday 25th July, that Iris Apatow (The Bubble) and Edvin Ryding (Young Royals) are joining the cast of ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’, the latest chapter in Suzanne Collins’ dystopian universe.
Both actors, aged 22, will portray Proserpina and Vitus, two Capitol University students assigned to the prep team for the District 12 Tributes. Their characters offer a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the Capitol during the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
Edvin Ryding’s casting further cements his rising trajectory in Hollywood. As one of the breakout stars of Netflix’s new generation, his global recognition skyrocketed after Young Royals. His first international magazine cover with Xmag marked a turning point, leading to further features in Behind the Blinds, Vogue Scandinavia, and a growing list of high-profile editorials that followed.
The film focuses on a young Haymitch Abernathy, the mentor originally played by Woody Harrelson, tracing his harrowing experience in the Games and the events that shaped his character. Long-time franchise director Francis Lawrence returns to helm the project.
‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ is set to hit UK cinemas on 20th November 2026, reigniting the saga that defined a generation.
