Taylor Swift surprises with a new Victorian Gothic style in her upcoming album “The Tortured Poets Department.” Discover more here!
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Taylor S. or not, you can instantly imagine Swift’s characteristic makeup look in your mind when the singer’s name is mentioned. She typically opts for her tousled long blonde hair with straight or curtain bangs. As for makeup, Swift is minimalist, opting for a “your skin but better” look and a classic bold red lip.
For the artist’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, we see her adopting a completely new vibe, both musically and visually. She shared a teaser on Instagram to announce the release date of the new music, as well as a music video titled “Fortnight,” and it left us stunned.
In the post, we see Swift completely stepping out of her beauty comfort zone to embrace Victorian and Gothic makeup and fashion looks. A close-up of her face shows her sporting the controversial resurrection of thin 90s eyebrows paired with a dark, smoky eye. The megastar also appears to be wearing a dark lipstick shade, and her hair is coiled around her head and pinned.
She also wears a necklace with a single gem in the center and a long, flowing, strapless dress with a high slit. In various clips throughout the teaser, we see Victorian-style black dresses, typewriters, crowns, and other indicators that Swift is taking us back to the mid-19th century.
We can’t wait to see what other Victorian glam looks Swift offers us during the promotion of her album.
