The artist J-Hope and Louis Vuitton introduce a new BUTTERSOFT sneaker in pink suede, blending luxury, streetwear and contemporary design.

The relationship between J-Hope, member of BTS, and the French house Louis Vuitton reaches a new milestone with the launch of a sneaker set to become one of the most coveted pieces of the year. Since being named global ambassador in 2023, his presence across shows, campaigns and front rows has been constant. Now, his aesthetic influence takes tangible form in a product arriving directly in stores.

The new sneaker emerges from a creative collaboration with Pharrell Williams, menswear creative director at Louis Vuitton, representing a precise synthesis between the world of streetwear and the sophistication of luxury. The base model is the BUTTERSOFT silhouette, reimagined in a version defined by its bubblegum pink suede finish — a chromatic choice that captures J-Hope’s vibrant and expressive identity.

The design incorporates carefully crafted details that elevate the piece. On the tongue and toe box, brown leather labels contrast against the dominant pink, embossed with the word “HOPE” and the Louis Vuitton signature respectively. This interplay of textures and tones reinforces the dual identity of the design, where the urban and the artisanal coexist in balance.

On the sides, the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram appears in a matching pink shade, outlined subtly in white to add visual depth. The bi-colour midsole, in pink and white, contributes to a refined monochromatic effect, while the rubber outsole features small house emblems that enhance both traction and branding detail.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the sneaker is also shaped by its cultural context. A first preview shared on social media by artist KAWS quickly sparked reaction among fans and fashion insiders, cementing anticipation around one of the most significant luxury footwear releases of 2026.

This project further positions J-Hope as a key figure at the intersection of music and fashion. His ability to translate his artistic identity into design reinforces Louis Vuitton’s strategy of connecting with new global audiences, particularly younger generations.

The official release of the J-Hope x Louis Vuitton BUTTERSOFT sneaker is scheduled for 20 May in South Korea, with a global rollout expected later that same month. Availability is set to be limited, heightening interest around the collaboration.

With this release, Louis Vuitton not only expands its presence within the sneaker segment, but also strengthens a narrative where luxury evolves through cultural collaboration. The union with J-Hope and Pharrell Williams results in a piece that transcends fashion to become a contemporary object of desire, where identity, design and music converge.
